CyTech Services CEO Robert Blackwell Named 2026 UMGC Achiever Award Recipient

University of Maryland Global Campus honors technology executive for expanding opportunity through education, mentorship, and community service

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 15, 2026 – Robert A. Blackwell, Jr., CEO of CyTech Services LLC, has been selected by the University of Maryland Global Campus Alumni Association as a recipient of the 2026 Achiever Award, recognizing his commitment to education, mentorship, community service, and creating pathways for the next generation of technology leaders.

The UMGC Achiever Award recognizes individuals whose volunteer efforts advance the university’s mission to inspire hope, empower dreams, and transform lives. Blackwell was selected for a record of service that extends from the technology industry into classrooms, mentorship relationships, scholarship programs, and communities.

“Receiving this recognition from UMGC is especially meaningful because education has played such an important role in my own journey,” said Blackwell. “I believe success carries a responsibility to create opportunities for others. Whether through scholarships, mentorship, or community service, my goal has always been to help make the path a little wider for the people coming behind me.”

A two-time UMGC graduate, Blackwell earned both a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management and Policy. He also holds leading industry credentials, including Project Management Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, and Certified Information Security Manager certifications.

He is also a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., whose tradition of servant leadership has helped shape his approach to business and community engagement.

Blackwell will be honored at the 2026 UMGC Alumni Awards Reception on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the College Park Marriott Conference Center in Adelphi, Maryland. He will also be recognized during UMGC Homecoming later that evening.
