G.C. Murray II, Esq., DPL Receives The Florida Bar President’s Award of Merit

Recognition honors Murray’s service to The Florida Bar, the Board of Governors, and the Sustainability Initiative for Attorneys.

ORLANDO, Fla. — G.C. Murray II, Esq., DPL, CEO and Managing Attorney of Association GC, has received The Florida Bar President’s Award of Merit in recognition of his service to The Florida Bar, the Board of Governors, and the legal profession.

The award was presented by outgoing Florida Bar President Rosalyn Sia Baker-Barnes during the General Assembly on June 19 at The Florida Bar Convention in Orlando.

Murray was recognized for his leadership and service, including his work as co-chair of the Sustainability Initiative for Attorneys. Through the initiative, The Florida Bar conducted listening sessions with attorneys across the state to better understand the challenges, needs, and realities facing lawyers across different ages, practice areas, and professional backgrounds.

“G.C. has had the extraordinary task of serving as co-chair for the Sustainability Initiative for Attorneys this year and did an incredible job,” Baker-Barnes said.

The initiative provided a forum for meaningful conversations about the current state and future sustainability of the legal profession. Its work helped elevate member voices and create space for attorneys to discuss the pressures, opportunities, and evolving needs shaping the practice of law.

“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from President Baker-Barnes and The Florida Bar,” Murray said. “The work of strengthening our profession requires listening, service, and a commitment to building systems that support lawyers at every stage of their careers. The President’s Award of Merit is presented by the President of The Florida Bar to recognize exceptional service, leadership, and contributions to the Bar and the legal profession.
